60 insurers and 45 insurance brokers operate in the non-banking financial market of Ukraine
The National Bank of Ukraine has published a monthly report on the quantitative composition of the non-banking financial institutions market for August 2025.
According to the NBU, 10 companies, including one insurer, left the non-banking financial institutions market during the reporting period. At the same time, the non-banking financial institutions market was replenished with two insurance brokers.
The UkrStrakhuvannya Internet resource from the NBU report states that in August 2025, the following companies left the non-banking financial institutions market in Ukraine: 5 financial companies, 2 credit unions, one insurer, one pawnshop and one insurance broker.
Thus, as of September 1, 2025, the total number of non-banking financial institutions in Ukraine decreased from 799 to 791 players, including 60 insurers and 45 insurance brokers operating in the market. Of the total number of insurers operating in the market, 50 are non-life and 10 are life insurers.
In the reporting month, the National Bank of Ukraine received 435 requests for registration and licensing actions. The number of requests from financial companies, pawnshops and lessors was 346. The number of requests for banks was 39, for credit unions and collection companies – 13, for insurers – 35, for payment institutions – 2.
