The losses of the global insurance industry from natural disasters will exceed $125 billion by the end of the year
Since the beginning of the year, insurance companies around the world have suffered losses from natural catastrophic events in the amount of $102 billion. This figure, according to an analytical report of the international reinsurance broker Aon, will exceed the figure of $125 billion in 2023 by the end of the year.

According to Aon, in the period from January 1 to September 30, 2024, at least 280 major natural disasters occurred around the world, resulting in economic losses of at least $258 billion. Despite the fact that economic losses are 27% lower than in last year, insurance industry losses ($102 billion) exceed the result of three quarters of 2023 ($88 billion) and the average for previous years ($79 billion).
International insurance and reinsurance broker Aon previously reported total revenue of $3.7 billion for the third quarter of 2024. This result is 26% higher than the same figure for the third quarter of 2023.
