There are 78 insurance companies operating in Ukraine
The number of non-bank financial market participants in July decreased from 990 (June 30, 2024) to 963 (July 31, 2024). The number of insurers decreased to 80 SC in July, to 78 SC in August, the number of banks remained unchanged at 62.
One insurer was forcibly removed from the registers, and 11 insurers were removed from the register at the initiative of the applicant (voluntary withdrawal from the market). During July, one insurer had all its licenses revoked forcibly, another 11 insurers had their licenses revoked voluntarily (on the basis of their applications), and the National Bank agreed to narrow the license scope for two insurers.
As of August 13, 67 non-life insurers (there were 78), 11 life insurers (there were 12), one insurer with a special status (ECA), and 40 insurance brokers worked on the insurance services market (the number did not change).
In July, the National Bank received 859 requests from market participants for registration and licensing actions. The number of inquiries regarding insurers was 172.
